Crochet warm booties for your pet this winter. You will enjoy making this easy bootie set that will keep your dog's paw warm and cozy.

Materials:

  • 1 skein Worsted cotton or wool yarn of two separate colors
  • Size F Crochet (aluminum) hook
  • Gauge ruler
  • ¼” elastic (flat)
  • Sewing needle and yarn needle
  • Tape measure
  • Sewing machine
  • Leather, rubber or vinyl material (optional) for soles

FRONT SIDE

Stitches are a simple single crochet, half-crochet and double crochet. You may vary what two colors you use for your booties. I made ties to make sure the booties stay on. My dog, Foxy is a golden blonde-haired mixed Pomeranian, so I chose colors that complement her fur. She is a medium size dog and she loves walks. When it is cold, it is wise to protect your dog’s paws from the elements. Ice and snow can be very uncomfortable. You can also sew leather or rubber soles on your booties if you choose. It took me two days to complete my set of booties. Depending on your skill, your timing may be more or less. Anyway, I hope you enjoy making these booties for your little pet darling.

Row 1: Ch 1, beg hdc in 1st loop, ch 1, sk 1, hdc next ch. 4 times, then beg *ch 2, sk 2, dc, next ch* , then repeat from * to * 21 times across, then ch 1, sk 1, hdc next ch to the end. Fasten off and conceal end.

(Optional): To use elastic in the tie, first tack the elastic to the tie with a sewing needle. Then using your sewing machine, stretching the elastic on the tie; Sew the elastic on.

Putting front, back and ties together

Step 1: Take the front, back sides, and turn them facing each other inside out. Take your yarn needle and sew the pieces together down to the end of color #2. The toe area should still be open which would be color #1.

Step 2: Take the toe area color #1 and fold up to the end of color#2. Take yarn needle and sew close the toe. Fasten off and tie ends close. Turn bootie out.

Step 3: Take your ties and tack it to the bootie on both the right and left side making sure it is secure. You have now completed your bootie.
